Wagener Terrace is a sizable neighborhood in Charleston, SC with boundaries defined by Hampton Park and The Citadel to the south, Mt. Pleasant Street to the north, Rutledge Avenue to the east, and the Ashley River to the west. The neighborhood's name originates from Frederick W. Wagener, a successful wholesale grocer and an influential promoter of the South Carolina Inter-State and West Indian Exposition held in 1901-1902​.


Wagener Terrace, established mainly in the 1930s, is today an area cherished for its proximity to Charleston's commercial center while maintaining its unique character.
